MeylineThe Who's online list shows the people who are on Dinchat at this moment, each with a photo, a name and a country. Look through everyone, or view the list one country at a time, then tap a card to open that person's profile. Nothing starts until you decide it should: browsing is only looking.
The list keeps changing as people in different time zones arrive and leave, so the faces you see over lunch are rarely the ones you see after midnight. That is the reason to check it before you do anything else. Knowing who is around makes the first hello a lot less of a guess.
In one paragraph
Dinchat is a place to meet new people online. It runs in your browser, lets you in as a guest, and gives you two ways to start a conversation: pick someone from the list of people who are online, or tap Match and be connected with someone new at random. Either way it ends in a conversation between two people.
You don't need your real name to begin, a match is random by design, and the person on the other side is a real person who also chose to be here. What Dinchat adds is the option to look first, and a follow button so that a good conversation is not the last one. This page is the overview: each section below gives one part of Dinchat a paragraph and points to the page that covers it properly. The steps are on the how Dinchat works page, and the full list of tools is under Dinchat features.
Door one
The list of people who are on Dinchat at this moment. You look, you open a profile, and you write to the person or ring them from there. It is the door for days when you care who answers.
How to pick someone and what to say firstDoor two
One button on the match screen. Choose video or voice, tap it, and you are talking with someone who was looking for a conversation at the same moment. It is the door for days when you would rather be surprised.
Message, voice or video: choosing by moodYou can use both: the list on days you feel like choosing, a match on days you do not. A side-by-side comparison of the two is on the meet new people online page.
Random Match
Different people. Unexpected chemistry.
Tap Match and Dinchat connects you with someone who is also looking for a conversation right now. You choose video or voice before you start, and a voice match keeps both cameras off. Sometimes the best conversations start when you least expect them: like the vibe, keep talking, and type in the call whenever a word is easier to write than to say.
If it isn't working, move on to someone else; each new match uses one of your free matches or coins. It is the familiar idea of random chat with one difference: when a conversation goes well you can follow that person and find them again. Prefer to keep the camera off? Read about random voice chat.

No. You come in as a guest: open Dinchat and you can already see who's online and start a match, with no form in the way and no real name to hand over. Most social apps keep you browsing. Dinchat is built around the moment a conversation actually starts — fast, low-pressure and on your terms.
An account is something you may be asked to create later, for instance when you want the things you have built up, like the people you follow and your coins, to stay with you on another device. Until then, guest is enough. What a guest shows and doesn't show is laid out on the anon chat page.
Three steps, and the first one is done by the time the page has loaded. There is no form between you and the list of people, and nothing to fill in before a match.
No email, no password. Open the page and you are in.
See who's online, country by country, or let Random Match surprise you.
Say hello. Keep it light, keep it late-night, keep it whatever you want.

OnlineEvery card opens a profile, and a profile gives you three things to do straight away: send a message, start a video call, or follow. A message is the gentlest opening. Write one line and let the other person answer when they are free. Following keeps someone on your list after they have gone offline, so a good first chat doesn't have to be the only one, and new people can slowly turn into new friends.
If you would like some help choosing who to talk to and what to say first, the meet new people online page has five opening lines you can borrow.
Talk across countries
Yes. The Who's online list can be viewed by country, and written messages are translated automatically, so you write in your language and the other person reads it in theirs. Different country, different language — messages are translated for the person reading them. That makes a first hello to someone in Lagos, Lima or Manila about as easy as one to someone down the road.
It also takes the pressure off a video call. If you run out of shared words while talking, type the sentence in the call and let the translation carry it; the details are in how Dinchat works. For more on choosing between message, voice and video, see chat with people online.

Dinchat is free to start. A match begins with free time; if you keep talking past it, the call continues on coins, and a notice appears in the call before that happens. You don't need a card to look around or to have a first conversation.
You begin with free matches on the house, and each match opens with free time.
At the top of the match screen. More rewards can be claimed there several times a day.
Keep talking past the countdown on a call, or match after your free ones are used, and coins come in.
Where exactly the free part ends: is Dinchat free. How to claim and spend: coins and the Reward Center.
Dinchat on your phone
Dinchat runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer, so there is nothing to download and nothing taking up storage. If you like having an icon, add the site to your home screen and it opens full-screen, like any other app on the phone.
That has a few practical upsides. There is no store to search and no update to wait for; what opens is always the current version. It works the same on an iPhone, an Android phone and a laptop. And trying it commits you to nothing: close the tab and it is gone.
The only thing your device will ask is permission to use the camera and microphone, the first time you start a call. A voice match needs the microphone alone.
Home-screen steps for each device and what to do if the camera won't start: Dinchat app.

No. You can start as a guest without filling in a form or giving your real name. You may be asked to sign in later for some things, such as keeping your follows and coins when you change device. The how Dinchat works page shows where that line sits.
Dinchat is a web app: it runs in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, with nothing to download. You can add it to your home screen in a few taps so it opens like any other app. The Dinchat app page has the steps for each device.
You start without handing over personal details, you can block or report anyone, and you decide how much of yourself to share. Like any place where you talk to people you have not met, it also depends on your own habits. Is Dinchat safe goes through what the platform covers and the scam signs worth knowing.
Open Who's online, look through the people who are there now and tap someone whose profile makes you curious. Write a short message or start a call from their profile. If choosing feels like too much, tap Match and let chance decide. There is more on both routes in meet new people online.
Yes. Choose a voice match and you are connected to someone with both cameras off, so you hear each other and nothing more. You can also skip calls altogether and write messages from a profile. See random voice chat for how a voice match goes.
Yes, if you follow them. Following adds that person to your list, and from their profile you can write to them or start a video call later, even when they are no longer in the Who's online list. Without a follow, a random match is hard to find twice.
