Mía from Peru, chatting safely on Dinchat
Mía🇵🇪 Peru

The short version?

You start as a guest, a call is between two people, and Block and Report exist. Never send money, and keep personal details to yourself until you know someone.

Is Dinchat safe to use?

Used with ordinary care, yes. You come in as a guest without handing over personal details, a call is between you and one other person, you can end any conversation when you choose, and Dinchat has Block and Report for the people who misbehave.

No honest site can promise more than that. Wherever people who have not met talk to each other, a few will behave badly, and no tool removes that entirely. So this page is split the way safety actually works: what the platform looks after, what stays in your hands, and what nobody can do for you.

Is Dinchat legit, and how can you check for yourself?

The fair test of any chat site is whether you can see it working before it asks you for anything. On Dinchat you can. Four checks take a couple of minutes and need neither money nor personal details.

  • Can you look around first? Yes. A guest can open Who's online and see who is there before deciding to do anything.
  • Is a card asked for at the door? No. Payment only comes up if you choose to buy coins.
  • Is the paid part stated? Yes, in plain words, on the is Dinchat free page: free to start, coins after that.
  • Is there someone to write to? Yes. One address, [email protected], and published rules in the Community Guidelines at the foot of every page.

Neither a card nor a phone number is asked for before you have seen who is here. You can check that yourself in the time it takes to open the page.

Can you block and report people on Dinchat?

Yes, both. Block is for the moment you decide you want no more contact from someone, and it asks for no reason. Report is for behaviour that breaks the rules; it opens a short form where you choose a reason and describe what happened.

This page only answers whether the tools exist. The steps, and the right moment to use each, are in the safety tips. What to put in a report so it is clear is on the contact page.

What do you share by coming in as a guest?

Very little. Starting a chat does not require your real name, your email address or your phone number, so the other person has a display name, your country, and whatever you choose to show or say. The cell-by-cell view of what is and is not visible is on the anon chat page.

What does Dinchat not protect you from?

This is the part most safety pages leave out, and it is the part worth reading twice. Three things sit outside what any platform can do.

The other side of the screen

On a call the other person sees what your camera shows, and you have no say over their device. Treat anything you show as something a new acquaintance now knows about you, and keep post, documents and second screens out of the frame.

What you say out loud

Guest entry keeps your name off the table. It cannot take back a workplace, a street or a surname once you have mentioned it. Anonymity lasts exactly as long as you keep it.

What happens after you move elsewhere

If you swap numbers or handles and carry on in another app, that conversation is no longer on Dinchat. Take your time before you do, and follow the person here in the meantime.

What are the scam signs to know before you chat?

They are the same on every site where people talk, which is good news, because once you know them you will spot them anywhere. Three cover nearly all of it.

  • A request for money, in any form. A loan, a gift card, a medical bill, an investment tip. This is the clearest sign there is, and it is often dressed up as an emergency that only you can solve.
  • A rush to somewhere else. Being pushed onto another app, or sent a link to a "private gallery" or a login page, before you have really talked.
  • A request for codes or passwords. Nobody you chat with has any reason to need them, and Dinchat will never ask you for them in a chat.

One sign is enough. You do not need proof and you do not need to argue. What to do next, step by step, is in the safety tips.

How does paying work, and can you be charged by surprise?

No card is asked for when you arrive, so there is no card on file to bill. Paid use runs on coins. If you hold any, bought or claimed as a reward, a matched call uses them once its free time is over; a notice appears in the call first. The rules are set out in full on the is Dinchat free page.

Who is Dinchat a good fit for, and who is it not?

It suits people who want to meet and talk to someone new online and are willing to treat them decently. If you enjoy conversation, are curious about other countries, or simply want company for half an hour, you are who it was built for.

It is not a place for harassment, threats, or pressuring people for money or personal details; those are against the rules. It is also not the right tool if you want certainty about who you will be talking to before the conversation starts. A random match is random, and the Who's online list shows a photo, a name and a country, not a background check.

Questions about safety on Dinchat

Does Dinchat ask for my phone number?

No. You start as a guest, and beginning a conversation does not require a phone number, an email address or your real name.

Can I try Dinchat without turning on my camera?

Yes. Written messages involve no camera, and a voice match keeps both cameras off for the whole call.

Does Dinchat have rules about behaviour?

Yes. The Community Guidelines are linked at the foot of every page. Harassment, threats and pressuring people for money or personal details are against them.

Does Dinchat show my real name?

No, not unless you enter it or say it. You begin as a guest with a display name, and your real name is not required to start chatting.

Are there fake profiles?

Any site that people can enter freely can attract some. Watch for the signs: requests for money, pressure to move to another app, links, sudden emergencies. Block and report any profile that shows them.

Do I have to enter a card to try Dinchat?

No. There is no card step on the way in. Payment details only come up if you decide to buy coins.

What should I never share in a chat?

Your home address, your workplace, financial details, passwords and verification codes. Be slow with your full name and your other social accounts as well.

Who do I tell if something goes wrong?

Use Report for the person concerned, or email [email protected] with what happened. If you were threatened or lost money, contact your local police and your bank too.
