Dinchat home Is Dinchat Free

Free to start

Is Dinchat free? The honest answer

Free to start, yes. Free without end, no. A match begins with free time, the Reward Center gives you more matches through the day, and coins come in if you keep talking past the countdown. Here is where the line sits.

So what does it cost to try?

Nothing. Guests can browse who's online and use free matches, and no card is asked for. Coins only matter if you stay on a call past its free time or match after your free matches are used.

Is Dinchat free to use?

Dinchat is free to start. You can open it, come in as a guest, look at who is online and begin your first matched conversations without paying anything and without entering a card. It is not free without end: a match begins with free time, and if you keep talking past it, the call continues on coins.

We would rather say that in the first paragraph than let you find out halfway through an evening. The rest of this page shows where the line sits, so you can decide how you want to use the place.

What do you get without paying?

Quite a lot, and all of it is there from your first visit.

  • Coming in as a guest. No fee, no card, no form.
  • Who's online. Browsing the list, viewing it by country and opening people's profiles.
  • Free matches for new users. You begin with a set of them. The number is shown on the match screen and can change over time, so we do not print one here.
  • The free time at the start of each match. Every match you start with a free match opens with a stretch of conversation that costs nothing.
  • More from the Reward Center. Claimable several times a day.

How is a matched call counted?

This is the part that decides whether a call costs you anything, so here it is in order. Two things are being counted: the number of matches you start, and the time you spend inside each one.

  1. 1

    You tap Match

Starting a new match uses one of your free matches. If you have none left, it draws on coins.

  2. 2

    The free time runs

The call opens with free time and a countdown on screen. Talk, type, decide whether you like each other. Nothing is being spent.

  3. 3

    A notice appears

Shortly before the countdown ends, a notice shows up in the call to say that paid time is about to begin.

  4. 4

    You stay or you go

Stay, and the call continues on coins for as long as you keep talking. Leave, and it ends there. If you have no coins, the call does not carry on past the free time.

We do not quote the length of the free time or a price in coins. Both are set in the product and can change; the countdown in front of you is always right.

What is the Reward Center?

It is where Dinchat hands out rewards, free matches above all. It sits as a bar along the top of the match screen, and when it says a reward is ready, you claim it. Then it resets, and the same thing happens again later: several times a day, not once.

It is the reason "free to start" stretches further than a one-time trial. The practical side, the two states of the bar and how to keep track of what you hold, is on the coins and Reward Center page.

When do coins come in?

In two situations. The first is time: you are on a matched call, the free time is over, and you choose to keep talking. The second is count: you want to start another match and have no free ones left.

Running out of free matches does not charge you anything; it simply means the next match needs coins or a Reward Center claim. You can also stop for the day and come back when a new reward is ready.

It helps to think of it as two lanes. In the free lane you move at the pace of the Reward Center and of the free time inside each call: a conversation, a pause, another. In the coins lane the conversation carries on past the countdown and the next match does not wait. Neither is the correct way to use Dinchat.

Free vs coins: what does each one cover?

Here is the split in one place. Where a row says "shown in the product", the terms can change, so the screen is the place to check.

Do you need a card to start?

No. There is no card step on the way in. Payment details only come up if you yourself decide to buy coins. Until then there is nothing on file to bill.

That also means you can judge the place properly before money enters into it. Browse the list, use your free matches, see whether the conversations are the kind you were hoping for. If they are not, you close the tab and owe nothing.

How do you get the most out of the free part?

Four small habits, none of which costs anything.

  1. 1

    Look before you match

Browsing who's online costs nothing. If someone there looks interesting, start with them.

  2. 2

    Open well

The free time is for finding out whether you two get on. A direct, friendly first line makes better use of it than a minute of "hi" and "hey".

  3. 3

    Follow before the countdown ends

A follow lets you find a person again, so a good call does not depend on staying past the free time.

  4. 4

    Claim before you start

Look at the Reward Center when you open the match screen. A reward claimed first is one you can use in that sitting.

Voice matches draw on the same free matches as video. If you prefer talking with the cameras off, see random voice chat.

Is anything hidden?

No, and that includes the part people would like to hear. There is no such thing as "free forever" here, and any page that promises you that about a live chat service deserves a second look. What we can say is that the free part is real and it renews through the day.

If something in the product ever seems to contradict this page, trust what the product shows and tell us; the address is on the contact page. The step-by-step view of the screens is in how Dinchat works.

Questions about what Dinchat costs

Is Dinchat really free?

It is really free to start. Entering as a guest and browsing who is online cost nothing, and a match begins with free time. If you keep talking past it, the call continues on coins.

Is Dinchat free forever?

No. The free part does not expire as a trial would, and the Reward Center keeps offering rewards, but talking past the free time and matching beyond your free matches run on coins. We do not claim it is free without limits.

How many free matches do I get?

The number can change, so we do not quote one. Your match screen shows what you currently have, and the Reward Center shows when more can be claimed.

How long is the free time on a match?

We do not quote a length, because it is set in the product and can change. The countdown on the call screen shows exactly how much is left.

What happens when the free time on a call ends?

A notice appears in the call just before. If you stay on, the call continues on coins; if you have none, or you leave, the call ends.

What are coins used for?

For staying on a matched call after its free time, for matches once your free ones are used, and for extras such as gifts. They are bought on the site and kept in your balance.

Can I chat without buying coins?

Yes. You can browse who is online, use your free matches and claim more from the Reward Center through the day, all without buying coins.

Do I need to sign up to get free matches?

You start as a guest, and free matches for new users are part of that start. Whether a particular reward asks you to sign in is shown in the Reward Center itself.

Is messaging free?

We do not state it here because it can change. Check the message screen before you send.
